WHO WE ARE
About Us
About Us: The Bengali Association, Coimbatore was formed in 2002 and is a registered body (Regd. No. 189/2002). With the support of eight core members, the association was established to create a vibrant socio-cultural platform for Bengalis residing in and around Coimbatore.
The first President was Mr. Anutosh Guha, IFS Officer, under whose leadership the foundation was laid. The association’s image was further elevated during the tenure of Mr. Subrata Barik, Ex-President, whose dynamic leadership brought new energy and colour to the organization. He was ably supported by Mr. Swaroop Kumar Chattopadhyay, Ex-Secretary, remembered for his intellectual contributions, along with other dedicated members such as Mr. Pinaku Das, Mr. Biswajit Paul, Mr. Vikenanda Pal, and senior members like Mr. Purushottam Purohit and Mr. Himadri Mukherjee, whose experience and guidance have always been pillars of strength for the association.
Today, under the leadership of Mr. Ayan Chatterjee (President) and Mr. Sankar Samanta (Secretary), the association proudly celebrates the 24th year of Durga Puja, continuing its tradition of cultural unity, devotion, and community spirit.
